Default DNS records

As we mentioned in our latest beta release blog post, in the 2021.09 version we have added new default DNS records to the DNS zones.

When adding a new DNS zone you will now also be asked for the IP address to which your fully qualified domain name will be pointed.

The IP will also be necessary in order to create the A record, which is now a default DNS record, among with:

  • NS records
  • mail.domain.tld CNAME to domain.tld
  • www.domain.tld CNAME to domain.tld
  • ftp.domain.tld CNAME to domain.tld
  • MX record
  • SPF record

Allow clients to move images between regions

A new feature that was added in the 2021.09 release is the ability to move and copy images between regions. You can also copy the image to the same region.

Having this feature should ease out the work of your OpenStack administrator, since he will no longer need to upload and configure the cloud image in each region.

PTR for floating IPs

Besides the DNS records of which we talked about earlier, we also added configurable PTR records for floating IPs.

Previously, the PTR record could be set only for public IPs assigned to the instances.

In order to configure the reverse DNS for a floating IP, you will need to head over to the Floating IPs menu. On each Floating IP you will now find a new option called Set PTR.

Notifications improvements

In 2021.09.0 release we also improved the toast notifications and the email notifications.

For toast notifications we have added a new option on each toast notification (that is related to a operation) which will allow you to see the details about the related operation.

Clicking on the See details option will redirect you to the running operation.

On the email notifications, we have added a new notification for cases where the ticket is re-opened.

As a reminder, when upgrading Fleio, we recommend you to use the safe upgrade procedure.

Fleio 2021.09.1 includes many more improvements and bug fixes. For a full list see the full 2021.09.1 changelog.
